Audits + inspections

Looking after your racking is paramount, as prolonging maintenance could severely affect your business.
We specialise in fully independent racking audits and inspections with the fastest report turnaround time on the market.
We complete most of the report at the time of the inspection or audit, this means you get a full report with recommendations within 24 hours of our visit (but usually the same day). This allows us to maximise the time on site and makes us more efficient. We’ll also leave a nifty little QR code on your load signs with access to the latest report in case you have a visit by WorkSafe. Magnitude Concepts complete all racking inspections in accordance with the Australasian standard AS4084 including when it comes to the experience of our inspectors.
We will always fast track and prioritise any inspections if health and safety is a concern.

Inspections – FAQ
Why should I get my racking inspected?
Regular inspections of your racking and storage systems prolong the life of your purchase by picking up damage before it becomes serious. At best, damaged racking is cosmetic in nature and requires no other action. At worst, it’s an accident waiting to happen.
Can’t I do it myself?
Yep, absolutely. Ideally you would inspect your own racking frequently and have your staff report any damage to you straight away. What a professional inspection will do is check all aspects of the racking in detail and compare to original site plans, as well as bringing the experience of working in the racking and storage industry to get into the right level of detail. We recommend doing both and so does the Australasian standard AS4084.
What am I looking for?
We wrote a handy little article for the most common types of racking issues that you can reference HERE. If you DIY your own inspection and aren’t sure if you’ve found something, give us a call and we’ll be happy to help – no charge.
How often should it be done?
Annually is the industry standard.
Is it a legal requirement?
No. There is no legal requirement in New Zealand to have regular racking inspections. You do inspections to mitigate your risk under H&S legislation and because, well, we know forklift drivers are renegades.
